“One of the first and biggest breakthroughs I had with Existential Kink, was when I was working with the idea of being the outcast in my family and in my current life. “I was in the shower having done EK 2 times before on this dynamic, imaging with joy and humor my desire for the situation. I kept visualizing and then all of a sudden I found myself crying with release and relief, realizing that all that time, I had been protected from a messed up family dynamic that wouldn’t have been good for me. I felt the power of a protector, she was a soldier Angel with huge wings, dark gray and fierce and loving, who had prevented me from being close to this damaging family and had kept me safe. I knew all at once I was so grateful and that I could thank and make peace with this protector, allowing her to rest as I didn’t need this protection anymore.

“After this point, I have been more connected to my own nuclear family, being included by my kids and more physical affection from them and others including acquaintances. My stepmom who was the ringleader of feeling threatened by me, went out of her way to make peace with me after us being estranged for over 3 years. And I feel softer and more open to others and less afraid of being included or not included in social activities.”
