On the 30th the full moon will be in Sagittarius. If you are in the Northern Hemisphere this full moon is known as the Flower Moon.
It will be exploding with energy, intensity, movement, beauty, and potential. In order to enjoy this full moon and not feel overwhelmed, you will need to understand and guide this energy.
Chiron will be our teacher for this full moon.
Sagittarius is the seeker, the hunter, the centaur. Chiron, the wounded healer centaur, is often associated with Sagittarius.
Much like any Sagittarian, he was driven and philosophical in his approach to life even after he sustained a wound that could not be healed. After he was wounded, he roamed the earth searching for a cure.
Although he never found a cure, he became a proficient healer and used his skills to help others.
Just like Chiron, we all have a part of us that is the victim, the hunter, and the healer.
Much of our psyche’s energy comes from the tension between these aspects of ourselves pulling and pushing against each other.
We constantly strive to heal, to provide, to find love, we strive for safety and security etc. The key is to not let any of the aspects overcome you.
If you don’t hunt, you won’t eat. If you don’t tend to your wound, it will fester. If you don’t rest, you will collapse.
Staying healthy is about understanding these aspects of the self and balancing them.
Full Moons shine light into the dark. They bring power, magick, transformation, healing, and wisdom.
They can also stir up old emotions and chaos. When coupled with the fire and wonder of Sagittarius, the energy and impact of the full moon expands exponentially.
Unless you are focused and have clear outlets for this extra energy, this full moon could prove to be uncomfortable and lead to sleeplessness, impulsiveness, and anxiety.
Conversely, if you are motivated and prepare for this influx of energy and power, the full moon could be a great time to attain your goals, start new projects, and even start healing old wounds.
The Chiron Tarot Spread will help you understand what your energy is doing at this time.
In particular, this tarot spread will also provide insight as to how to heal and how to express different aspects of yourself.
I have alluded to the hunter and the healer but I haven’t discussed the victim.
Where there is the hunter we have the hunted, where we have the healer we have the wounded. Our victim is the part of us that is hurt, that we often dislike, that we often blame and shun.
We don’t tend to like our inner victim aspect much, but we all have one. We all have times we fall into playing the role of the victim.
The Chiron Tarot Spread gives you a chance to look at the wound and how the victim impacts us.
A lot of sickness, biological, mental, and spiritual, comes from not knowing how to express your energy.
Everyone has unique outlets.
The right outlet for you will feel easy, encourage a state of flow, and exhaust you in a good way.
An example of this could be an artist finding the right medium for their vision whether it be drawing, sculpting, or painting etc.
Once the artist has found the right medium the energy flows easily onto the canvas, enabling the artist to realize their goal.
Now, imagine that same artist trying to express painting energy using sculpting tools? They would quickly become frustrated and stagnant.
Knowing how energy flows through you is vital.
That is not to say we don’t all have to do things we don’t want to do, (Spring cleaning, anyone?) but imagine that you are a naturally gifted Reiki healer but you’ve never given yourself permission to explore Reiki.
You can imagine that energy would start to build up and fester pretty quickly.
It is also important to know how your victim aspect expresses energy.
By looking at how your victim aspect operates you can decide if it is helping you or hindering you. You can also find out basics like whether it needs rest or movement.
While it is vital to tend to your victim and give it rest or nurturance, it is equally important that your victim aspect doesn’t drive your behaviour in unhealthy ways.
Attend to your victim aspect just as often as you do your healer and hunter.
There is no shame in being a the hunted, the wounded, or the victim. We all have wounds. We all carry a part of ourselves that is raw and more fragile than the rest.
Tend to your wounds, otherwise you will turn lame and be brought to ground just like Chiron.
While some of your energy may be drawn towards achieving goals, it is completely normal for some of your energy to flow towards activities that simply make you happy or at ease.
For example, you may be drawn to artwork or spellcraft this week. You may get the sudden itch to get your paperwork in order. Or, you may want to go horse riding.
All of these activities express energy and help you build and expand your power
If giving yourself permission to invest your power and express your energy in any way you see fit feels wrong… breathe.
We are raised in a society that praises structured achievement.
Sagittarian energy can feed this need for achievement.
However, any good healer and hunter will tell you that rest and caring for your mental health and soul health is imperative. You are allowed to be happy. Happiness is a perfectly healthy and important goal.
If you are feeling the call of this full moon particularly strongly, you are probably a healer.
However, it is important that you take this time to heal yourself first—just like Chiron.
Own your wild. Keep the balance. Draw strength and wisdom from your wounds. Hunt down your joy. Feel your power and rejoice in it.
