THE TABOO PATH TO SPARKING SYNCHRONICITY – embracing the luminous dark

In my last post I mentioned the kind of rapid, profound transformation that’s possible in your magical life when you step shamelessly into the parts of yourself that you’ve previously tried to hide, tone down, or push away.

Today I want to talk a bit more about why that single act of integration (which participants in INFLUENCE, the upcoming life-altering course on mastering practical magic, will accomplish) has so much power.

What it comes down to is this:

We all enter this world as inherently magical beings capable of interfacing with spiritual realities and synchronously drawing amazing experiences of connection and meaning to ourselves, but we tragically lose that talent when we’re socialized as we grow up.

Remember, all magic happens through synchronicity. It doesn’t happen instantly. It happens over days and weeks as the external world moves to adjust itself to what’s in our internal world.

And synchronicity, a felt resonance between our inner and outer worlds, increases when we inhabit the dark of our unconscious minds with total embrace and thereby turn it into the luminous dark.

Synchronicity increases when we make the unconscious, conscious. And thereby we grow our power.

I’ll say it again: the way to spark wonderful synchronicity in your life is to learn to inhabit the dark of your unconscious mind and give every scary, taboo thing you find there your total embrace.

Much easier said than done.

And yet, when you learn how to do it, you’ve unearthed a major secret to life.

Sure – but remind me again what synchronicity is?

Synchronicity is a subjective, perceived resonance between your inner world of thoughts, feelings, dreams, memories, attachments and the external world of other people, events, nature.

The classic example of synchronicity comes from the pioneering Swiss psychologist Carl Jung: he reported that one day while he sat talking to a patient about her majestic night-time dream of a scarab beetle visiting her, a similar winged, jewel-like beetle flew in through the window and sat itself on the windowsill to the mutual amazement of Jung and his patient.

The arrival of the winged beetle was an event in the external world (nature) that resonated with an internal experience of the patient (her dream of the scarab beetle) and with the conversation that Jung and his patient were having about her dream at the time that the beetle made its sparkling arrival.

In other words, we realize synchronous experiences (i.e., magic) through recognizing patterns of interplay between our conscious and subconscious experience.

In this case, the pattern that Jung and his patient recognized was a repeated appearance of the winged beetle.

Most of the time in modern life, we may notice synchronicity in our life but it seems to happen randomly, and not all that often. It doesn’t have to be this way. We can master practical magic.

What exactly is practical magic?

Practical magic is the deliberate participation in synchronicity, with real-world results.

It’s a conscious, intentional pattern-making dance with our own subconscious mind which has the effect of dramatically increasing our synchronous experiences (i.e., our experiences of meaning and significance – the feeling that the external world is moving in harmony with our internal world.)

What blocks our practical magic prowess?

In a word: shame. Most all of us humans learned growing up to shame and repress certain key dimensions of our subconscious selves. When we do this, we create a division in ourselves. We create a shadow.

The shadow we create through shame takes on obsessive and compulsive qualities and drains our energy and attention – this leaves us unable to participate in the subtle dance between our conscious and subconscious experience.

When caught in this obsession and compulsion we create the experience of addiction in our lives (to approval, work, alcohol, drugs, food, shopping, co-dependent relationships, you name it) rather than the delightful experience of magic.

Like synchronicity, addiction certainly works with patterns, too. But the experience of magic is always a liberating, enriching one and the experience of addiction is always a constricting, depriving one.

Shame and addiction together kill our natural magical power of influence because they destroy our ability to be alive to our dreamselves (our subconscious, our souls).

The transformation that’s possible

It’s possible for you to go from being burdened by shame to being hugely at home in your own inner authority, capable of experience intensely satisfying synchronicity on a regular basis.

It’s possible for you to let go of your obsessions and compulsions and thereby vastly increase your havingness level (the amount of really good stuff that you’ll allow to come into your life).

We’ll be covering exactly how to do this (and much more!) in INFLUENCE.

The result?

Your potent, highly individual magical influence unleashed on the world. A radically changed outlook on life. A dramatically increased ability to allow yourself to have wealth, love, power, joy.

About INFLUENCE

INFLUENCE is a deep-dive virtual course on practical magic. Registration for INFLUENCE will open on July 7th, 2016 and will close on July 14th, 2016.

When I asked a recent participant in the last round of INFLUENCE, Patricia Black, what she would say to someone considering taking the course, Patricia offered this:

“This course is so fascinating. You’ll be absolutely riveted. You will get to know yourself better…both the light and the shadow, and your power as a creator.

It’s not a course if you’re into making excuses or staying stuck in your old beliefs, and it’s not a quick fix. What we’re learning is so much more than rituals and spells.

We’re diving into material here that would’ve taken years in some mystery school in ancient times.”

Thank you, Patricia!

If you decide to take INFLUENCE with me, here’s what you’ll have by the end of the course:

Curious about the details? INFLUENCE is open for registration! ;)
