Yesterday we dove into three of the reasons why money magic is so connected to love and partnership magic.
Today we’ll talk about the fourth reason—which may be the strangest, but is by far our favorite.

The Toxic View
The form of money magic that has been by far the most impactful to me (and that we’ll be immersing in fully in the MONEY: the life-changing course on wealth magic as an initiatory path) has centered around cultivating a relationship with the spirit of Money as a bona fide teacher spirit.
While I’ve found this kind of practice extremely useful for developing a happier relationship with money, it also has had inevitable side effects on the rest of my life—most notably the arena of relationship and intimacy.
I was once at a tea ceremony retreat with the Global Tea Hut organization, and the tea master facilitating it made a very beautiful distinction between belief and view.
Belief, he said, is the collection of concepts that light up in response to a given question.
(Like when someone asks you what you think about climate change… the various thoughts you have and share in response are beliefs.)
View, by contrast, is your mode of experiencing moment-to-moment reality.
You might, for instance, believe that you are an incredible soul deeply worthy of devoted partnership… but the view through which you experience daily life could be layered with insecurity, self-doubt, and a felt sense of yourself as “alone.”
Beliefs can change as soon as you acquire new information, or simply decide to change them—but view changes only with deliberate practice.
We tend to develop many painful views through conditioning and trauma, but there is one toxic core view that develops almost inevitably in any human society, particularly our modern one—and which lies at the root of an insane amount of suffering.
This is the view of material existence as inanimate, unminded, or soulless.
Nearly all of us carry some form of this magically toxic view by default, and it leads to experiences of:
-events “happening to” us, feeling like a passive victim of forces “out there”
-recurring frustration with mundane tasks and duties
-the world seeming like a collection of things we have to manipulate or otherwise control
The main alternative view—of material existence as animate, minded, and souled—isn’t simply a charming philosophical stance.
It is the key to unlocking an ecstatic, and fundamentally erotic, experience of all of life—and, if we so wish it, to generating breathtaking love and partnership.
The Cosmic Lover
Experiencing the entire universe as animate—with every atom, cup of tea, and debit card being a part of its body—leads naturally to the experience of life as the soul’s lover.
This happens because we are in constant psychic (and physical) contact with some portion of the universe’s body, and because our desires are wrapped up in all interactions with it.
We have some important microcosmic experiences in daily life of body-on-body contact steeped in desire—most notably sex, or erotic love.
It might seem strange to compare our constant interaction with material reality to the sensual delight of erotic intimacy, since breathing air or sitting on a couch isn’t usually quite as intense or pleasurable as making love, no matter how comfy your couch is.
But not only are the two experiences fundamentally identical—the universe is actually the most infinitely skilled lover that exists.
If you’ve ever been with a truly spectacular lover, you know that the bliss of the experience comes not just from their capacity to give you precisely what you want… but perhaps even more importantly, from their capacity to temporarily withhold precisely what you want.
An amazing lover’s patient, perfectly attuned touch—going slower than what your body seems to crave—is the most important key to your body’s ecstatic response, and is in fact exactly what your body craves most.
The universe seeming not to give you exactly what you want is in fact the foundation of its erotic skill. And learning to relate to the world as souled unlocks the experiential recognition of this fact.
The Stepping Stone
While the view of the entire universe as souled, and thus an incredible (and very kinky) lover, can be practiced immediately on its own… it can be tricky (and potentially overwhelming) to start so big.
The simplest and most effective way to begin cultivating this view is by choosing small portions of existence—like specific plants or objects—that we tend to treat as unsouled, and practice relating to them subject-to-subject, soul-to-soul.
And it is particularly powerful to start with a part of the universe that’s cloaked in shame, fear, or disgust… because these feelings are especially potent obstacles to the experience of loving and soulful connection.
This is where money comes in.
Money seems, by default, to be one of the dirtiest, shameful, and most grossly material portions of human life.
This means that learning to relate intimately to Money as the incredible banished spirit that she is has a massive impact on unlocking one’s capacity for experiencing all of life as a brilliantly souled lover.
And—this my favorite part—when we begin to develop the real, experiential view of the world as an incredible lover…
It often synchronistically fractalizes into the manifestation of an actual, physical, human lover.
This is why I’m never surprised when clients who begin working intimately with the spirit of Money end up finding a breathtaking new romantic partnership. The universe likes to rhyme—and a devoted human lover rhymes perfectly with a devoted universal lover.
The more avoidance, suspicion, or disgust you have about money, the more effective animist money magic is for creating this kind of shift in your soul.
